Classes

Dancers ages 1.5+ can take weekly dance classes in techniques such as ballet, tap, jazz, leaps & turns, musical theater, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and acrobatics/mini gymnastics. Specialty classes are offered for specific age groups including improvisation/composition. 

Adaptive dance and adaptive gymnastics are offered for Ages 4-Adult for dancers with special needs and the class focuses on dance/rhythm oriented developmental/movement goals using ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop technique. {wheelchair & walker accessible on the 1st floor studio}

Creative Dance Movements (CDM) 

Ages 3-5

Calendar:

Class Levels ...

CDM with a Parent 

Ages 1.5-3.  Parent/guardian required to attend class. Emphasis is on creative movement and play along with having the young dancer gain independence in a classroom setting. 

Creative Dance Movements (CDM)
Ages 3-5.  No previous training. Emphasis is on creative movement in styles including ballet, tap, & tumbling or hip hop, jazz, & tumbling.
 
Beginner      
Ages 5+ and 0-3 years prior training. Basic dance steps and creative movement. 



Intermediate
Ages 9+ and 4-6 years prior training. Two classes/week recommended.



Advanced
Ages 12+ and 6+ years prior training. Advanced class with emphasis on performance. Three classes/week recommended.

Adaptive Dance (special needs)

Ages 4-Adult.  Beginner- Intermediate ballet/jazz/hip hop dance coordinated with dancer goals while incorporating rhythm aspects. 1:1 ratio with student and staff. Accommodations can be made on an individual basis. Specialty class for students with Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Autism, or any other diagnosis who wants to learn how to dance!

***Placement is based on teacher’s discretion. Dancers can move up or down levels after the session is over at the discretion of the teacher***

Class Styles ...

Acrobatics/ Gymnastics

Ages 4+.  Beginner - Advanced with emphasis on flexibility and strengthening. Gymnast will develop skills on the floor and beam including forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, backbends, back walkovers, and much more!  

Ballet/Lyrical/Contemporary

Beginner - Advanced with emphasis on foundations of dance, contraction/release concepts, and emotional story-telling choreography. Dancers will develop skills at the ballet barre, turns/leaps/jumps, dance floor work, and performance aspects.

Hip Hop

Beginner - Advanced with emphasis on musicality, rhythm, level changes, and contractions. Dancers will develop skills including new age and old age hip hop moves/dances, break dance/acro tricks, hip hop floor work, and social dances. 

Improvisation & Composition
Ages 10+ and 3+ years prior training. Intermediate - Advanced with emphasis on the creative process of dance. Dancers will develop the importance of impulse while improvising. Students will develop strategies and tools to create their own dance pieces. 

Jazz/Musical Theater

Beginner - Advanced with emphasis on foundations of dance and acting/performance qualities. Dancers will develop skills including turns/leaps/jumps, balance/coordination, Broadway style movements, lip singing, and performance aspects (facials, story telling, energy levels, etc).

Tap

Beginner - Advanced with emphasis on rhythm, musicality, and dynamics. Dancers will develop skills with brain development as they strengthen the connection of their brain to their feet, dynamics to enhance performance value, and coordination.
